Partial Closure of Government Buildings

Woodford County Government remains open for business, serving Woodford County citizens. Beginning June 1st all Woodford County Government Offices will be open to in-person services by appointment only. 

The Woodford County Courthouse will use the SHERIFF'S DROP-BOX to conduct public business. Please place your documents in an envelope with the name of the person/department on it. Please make sure your contact information is included in case of question. Documents will be processed and returned to the citizens.

ROAD TESTING FOR WOODFORD COUNTY RESIDENTS WILL RESUME JULY 14TH, 2020

 

*Road Testing will resume with the Kentucky State Police Examiner for Woodford County Residents beginning Tuesday, July 14th, 2020.   You will need to schedule your appointment from our online scheduling tool found at the following link:   http://secure.kentucky.gov/booking.web/Event/Book/233#

*Road Testing will be given each Tuesday during the months of July and August to catch up the back log of eligible testers.  Future dates and times to be determined.

*Please remember to bring your required documents with you.  

*Location of testing site:   Parking Lot behind First Baptist Church and Citizens Commerce Bank. Corner of Baker and HT Keeton Street in Versailles

 


The office is closed to in-service walk-ins at this time.   However, you may send in filings by mail, eFiled or using the drop box provided outside the Courthouse Annex Building.  For payments of fines or restitutions you may mail in or call our office to make a payment over the phone. 

Court Attendance:  If you have a scheduled Court appearance, please call the office at 859-873-3711 for instructions.  You will be required to attend in person, unless other telephonic/video arrangements have been made.  If you are required to attend, social distancing and wearing of masks will be required. 

Driver's License:  Limited Services for DL will resume on June 2nd, 2020. 

Individuals with a Driver's License, Permit or ID card that expired or was lost between March 1-June 30, 2020, who wish to obtain a renewal or reissuance must apply through a remote application process.  You can download the form here .  Or, you may go to the website www.kycourts.gov .  There you will find a listing for Courts, you will select from drop down, Circuit Clerk's and then select Woodford County, scroll down the page until you locate the Driver's License information and you will see form TC94-192.   You may send in your completed form by e-mail to woodfordcountyDL@kycourts.net , first class mail or use the drop box located on the Courthouse Annex Building.  You may pay with a check or money order by mail.   If you choose to pay with a debit/credit card, the Clerk will call you to take your payment information over the phone.  There will be a small processing fee when paying by debit/credit card.  It will take five to seven days to receive your credential by mail once your application has been processed.

Individuals with a with a DL, Permit or ID card expired or lost before March 1st, 2020, you must apply by making an in-person appointment with the Clerk's Office.  (859-873-3711)   

You may also obtain new credentials through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Regional Office in Frankfort.  You may make an appointment with KYTC by visiting its website: (https://drive.ky.gov/confidentky)  Services are Limited.  

Permit Testing:

Permit testing will resume with the Kentucky State Police for Woodford County residents beginning June 16th, 2020.  You will need to call KSP (502-229-2689) to schedule an appointment.

Testing will be held on Tuesday's and Thursday's of each week at the Regional Driver Licensing Office located at 200 Mero Street, Frankfort, Ky.

First step is to call the Circuit Clerk's Office (859-873-3711) to schedule an appointment to have your application processed and your verification documents approved.  Secondly, you will call KSP (502-229-2689) to schedule an appointment for testing. Upon passing your written test, you will need to schedule another appointment with the Clerk's Office (859-873-3711) for issuance of your permit.

Open to the public June 1st with appointments only

  • New Office Hours: Mon.-Thurs. 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; Friday 8:00 am – 5:30 pm
  • Vehicle registration renewals will continue to be processed on a daily basis.  The following are all options for you to renew your vehicle registration(s):

    • Dropping off your unexpired vehicle registration(s), proof of insurance, and check made payable to the Woodford County Clerk inside an envelope that is addressed to the Woodford County Clerk in the Sheriff's black drop-box outside of the Sheriff's office at the courthouse or at Midway City Hall.   All registration requests are collected from Midway City Hall and the courthouse drop-box, processed, and mailed back to you that day.  Please write your phone number and email address on the outside of your envelope in case we need to reach you;
    • We can process your vehicle renewals over the phone by taking a credit card payment;
    • Renewing online by using  https://secure.kentucky.gov/kytc/renewal.  Enter your vehicle title number, license plate number, and credit card number. Vehicles that cannot be renewed online are:   Vehicles with expired registrations, leased vehicles, vehicles without current insurance, or vehicles that are owned by someone who has overdue property taxes on ANY vehicle; and
    • Of course, you can always mail your unexpired registration(s) to the office address:  103 South Main Street, Room 120, Versailles, KY 40383.

    • Boat registrations cannot be renewed online; however, registrations can be renewed over the phone or by dropping off your registration and check in either drop-box.
    • Vehicle transfers will be taken by appointment only during this controlled opening period of time. 
    • Notary applications can be processed online by following this link: http://web.sos.ky.gov/notaries/index
    • Voter registrations can be completed on the following link: govoteky.com
    • Land Records - the vault can be accessed by making an appointment with Darra or Rose at 859-873-342
    • Marriage Licenses will be issued with appointments only until further notice.

Woodford County Public Library

  • Closed to the Public. Patrons may continue to hold all materials that are due back during this time period until the Library reopens.
  • Curb side pick-up available starting May 18th 
    • Versailles Branch: Mon.-Fri. 9 am-6 pm, Sat. 1-5 pm
    • Midway Branch: Mon. Wed. Fri. 9 am -1 pm, Tues. Thur. 2-6 pm, Sat. 1-5 pm  

Woodford County Detention Center

  • Woodford County Detention Center has suspended all visitor access and Class D community service programs until further notice.
  • The lobby at the Detention Center is closed to the public.  If you need assistance, contact the Detention Center at 859-873-3196.
  • The Detention Center continues to make masks for the community. If you are in need of a mask, please contact the Woodford County Detention Center.  Donations of material and/or elastic are always welcome. 
  • The Woodford County Senior Center is closed to all community programs.
  • Closed to the public until further notice
  • Staff and agents are still working and can take soil samples, plant samples, camp applications, etc. through a filing cabinet we have placed at the front door of the building.
  • If dropping off payment for a program/class, please drive to the back of the building to drop it in the black drop box attached to the side of the building.

  • Tax Roll Inspection has been delayed to July 6-20
  • Tangible Property tax returns are now due July 15th
  • As of March 18th Versailles City Hall will be closed to in-person visitis. Bills can be paid in the deposit boxes in the rear of the building which will be emptied hourly during normal business hours. If you need to speak to anyone inside the building please call (859)873-5436 and follow the prompts. 
  • If you need to sign up or cancel water services, please call (859)873-5436 and select option 2. Mayor Traugott may be reached directly at (859)806-7743 
  • Midway City Hall is closed to the public.  Citizens may call 859-846-4413 for assistance. 
  • At the Jack Jouett House Historic Site, the safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers and guests is our highest priority. The Jack Jouett House will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 24th. The April 23 performance of Virgil Covington as William Wells Brown has been postponed until Thursday, October 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
  • The filing deadline for the 2019 Woodford County Net Profit Licenses Fee Return deadline and payment deadline have both been extended to July 15, 2020. All other filing deadlines remain the same. If you have questions, please call (859)873-5701or email sgarmon@woodfordcountyky.gov 

  • The Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Planning Commission is temporarily not accepting filings that require Public Hearings for Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, Board of Architectural Review, or Agricultural Review BoardHowever, effective June 1, 2020 we will accept Minor and Major Plats, Minor and Major Development Plans, and Construction Plans as they do not require Public Hearings.  This is  in order to continue efforts to protect the health and safety of the Woodford County Planning Commission staff and their customers.  The Planning Commision meetings will be conducted via Zoom. 

           This will remain in effect until Woodford County Executive Order 2020-02 is terminated. (This does NOT include                   building or electrical permitting).
